My name is Bassam Sidiki. I am an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Faculty Affiliate in their M.A. in Health, Humanities, and Medicine. I received my PhD in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan (2022), an MA in Medical Humanities and Bioethics at Northwestern University (2017), and an AB in English at Georgetown University (2016). I conduct scholarship and teaching at the juncture of postcolonial studies, health humanities, and disability studies. I also write creative nonfiction and poetry.
