
Bassam Sidiki is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is also affiliated with the South Asia Institute, the Center for Asian American Studies, and the Humanities, Health, and Medicine M.A. program. He received his Ph.D. in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (2022), an M.A. in Medical Humanities and Bioethics at Northwestern University (2017), and an A.B. in English at Georgetown University (2016). He conducts scholarship and teaching at the juncture of postcolonial and empire studies, health humanities, and disability studies. He also writes fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.
